National Events:

PM Narendra Modi:

• PM Narendra Modi is on a visit to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana from 11 Nov 2022. He will flag off Vande Bharat Express and Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan Train at KSR railway station in Bengaluru.
• Prime Minister will also inaugurate Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport and unveil the 108 feet bronze statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.

Battle of Walong:

• As part of the ongoing Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Battle of Walong, Dao Division of Spear Corps organised a Mela at Walong Circle of Arunachal Pradesh on 09 Nov 22 incorporating the local populace.
• The celebrations are being held to commemorate the sacrifice of the Indian Army while defending the Indian territory against the Chinese aggression of 1962.

Navi Technologies Ltd:

• Navi Technologies Ltd has appointed MS Dhoni as its brand ambassador.
• The firm sells financial products like personal loans, home loans, and general insurance etc. According to Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2021, among sports celebrities, Dhoni entered the top five club in 2022 and saw a big spike in his brand value to reach $ 61.2 million.

Aadhaar:

• The government has amended Aadhaar rules, specifying that supporting documents need to be updated at least once by Aadhaar holders on completion 10 years from enrolment date.
• The updation would ensure continued accuracy of Aadhaar – related information in the Central Identities Data Repository. More than 133 crore Aadhaar cards have been issued as of June 2022.

ASEAN – INDIA:

• Indian media delegation is on a visit to Singapore and Combodia under the ASEAN – INDIA Media exchange programme from 8-13 Nov’22.
• On the first leg of the visit the delegation went to Singapore and visited the Singapore India Chambers of Commerce and Industries (SICCI).
• The year 2022 has been declared as the ASEAN – India Friendship year, as ASEAN and India commemorate 30 years of partnership.

National Education Day: 11th November:

• National Education Day is celebrated every year on November 11 to mark the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first education minister after independence ( 1947-58 ).
• Maulana Azad was a key architect of the education system of independent India.The government in 2008 declared November 11 as National Education Day. Maulana Azad was posthumously awarded Bharat Ratna in 1992.

Ministry of Home Affairs:

• Ministry of Home Affairs has successfully completed a mother tongue survey of 576 languages and dialects across the country.
• It has been planned to set up a web archive at the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to preserve & analyse the original flavour of each indigenous mother tongue.
• The Linguistic Survey of India is a regular research activity in the country since the 6th Five Year Plan.

IBDC:

• Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on 10th Nov 2022 launched India’s first national repository for life science data, the Indian Biological Data Center (IBDC) at Faridabad, Haryana.
• It is mandated to archive all life science data generated from publicly – funded research in India. It has a data storage capacity of about 4 petabytes & houses the ‘ Brahm ‘ High – Performance Computing (HPC) facility.

Kotak Mahindra Bank:

• Kotak Mahindra Bank on 9th Nov 2022 launched Merchant One Account for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It is a one – stop solution to cater the banking and other business – related needs of MSMEs, including small retailers.
• It will also help merchants digitise their daily business processes through smart automation. Kotak Mahindra Bank HQ: Mumbai. Founder & CEO: Uday Kotak.

‘India Agribusiness Award 2022’:

• Sanjeev Balyan, MoS for Fisheries , Animal Husbandry & Dairying presented the ‘ India Agribusiness Award 2022 ‘ to the National Fisheries Development Board ( NFDB ) on 10 Nov 2022.
• It was presented the award as part of the India International Agro Trade and Technology Fair – 2022, which is being held from Nov 9-11 in New Delhi. It is being organised by the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture.

Dattopant Thengadi:

• Union Minister Bhupender Yadav on 10th Nov 2022 launched an online portal for ESIC Maternity benefits claim facilities for insured women in New Delhi.
• The portal was launched at the 102nd birth anniversary of Dattopant Thengadi, a social reformer and the founder of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh( BMS). Founded in 1955, BMS is the labour wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ( RSS ).

Krishify:

• Social networking platform for Indian farmers, Krishify, has integrated with the Platform of Platforms portal by e – NAM ( National Agricultural Market ). e – NAM Launched: 2016.
• As a service provider, Krishify will provide advisory services to farmers & will cater to the needs of 14 crore farmers in India. e – NAM is an online trading platform for agricultural commodities in India.

BIMSTEC:

• India hosted the 2nd Agriculture Ministerial – level meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi – Sectoral Technical & Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in New Delhi on 10 Nov 2022.
• It was held under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar & Agriculture Ministers of Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka & Thailand participated in the meeting. BIMSTEC HQ: Dhaka.

Veerangana Sewa Kendra:

• Indian Army has launched a single window facility – Veerangana Sewa Kendra ( VSK ) for the welfare & grievances redressal of Veer Naris ( army wives ). Indian Army with a motto of “Taking Care of Our Own , No Matter What ” launched this facility.
• It will be available on the Indian Army Veterans Portal. Veer naris are employed as VSK staff to maintain an inherent connection with the beneficiaries.

Tashigang:

• In Himachal Pradesh, Tashigang is the world’s highest polling station situated at 15256 feet. Tashigang will vote for the first time in assembly election on 12 Nov 2022.
• Tashigang was set up in 2019. This remote village is located in Lahaul – Spiti district which falls under the Mandi parliamentary seat. Earlier, Hikkim had the status of being the highest polling station.

INCA

• The 42nd International Congress of the Indian National Cartographic Association ( INCA ) is being organised by the National Hydrographic Office ( NHO ) , Dehradun from 09 to 11 Nov 2022.
• The Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India, Vice Admiral Adhir Arora, is the current President of INCA.The theme for the 42d INCA Congress is ‘ Digital Cartography to Harness Blue Economy ‘. INCA Founded: 1979.

TSI:

• Telemedicine Society of India (TSI) is hosting the Telemedicon 2022, the 18th edition of the International Telemedicine Conference, in Kochi, Kerala from 10 to 12 Nov 2022.
• Telemedicon 2022 is an annual global conference for healthcare professionals, health insurance providers & others. Theme of the event is ‘ Strengthening Health Systems through Sustainable Telemedicine and Digital Health ‘.

International Events:

Indian – American lawmakers:

• In the United States midterm elections, a record five Indian – American lawmakers from the ruling Democrat Party have been elected to the US House of Representatives.
• Indian – American entrepreneur Shri Thanedar created a record as he become the first Indian – American to win the Congressional elections from Michigan defeating Republican candidate Martell Bivings.

COP27:

• At the UN climate change conference, the COP27 presidency launched the Sharm – el – Sheikh Adaptation Agenda.
• It outlines 30 goals to enhance resilience for four billion people living in the most climate – vulnerable communities by 2030.The goals seek to minimize devastating impacts of climate change.
• The presidency sought to mobilise 140 bn dollars to 300 bn dollars to pursue these goals.

Ukraine & ASEAN:

• Ukraine has signed a treaty with ASEAN at its Cambodia Summit in Phnom Penh.
• Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba signed the Instrument of Accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia to become its 50th member, under the presidency of Cambodia. He also held a meeting with ASEAN Secretary – General Dato Lim Jock Hoi.

Jagdeep Dhankhar:

• Vice President (VP) Jagdeep Dhankhar will visit Cambodia from 11- 13 Nov ¹22 to attend the ASEAN – India Commemorative Summit & the 17th East Asia Summit. Cambodia is hosting these Summits as the current Chair of ASEAN.
• It will be the first foreign visit of Dhankhar. The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of ASEAN – India relations & is being celebrated as the ASEAN – India Friendship Year.

G20:

• PM Narendra Modi will visit Indonesia from 14th to the 16th of Nov to attend the G20 Summit in Bali. During the summit, G20 leaders will deliberate upon key issues of global concern under the Summit’s theme of ‘ Recover Together, Recover Stronger ‘.
• At the closing session of the Summit, Indonesian President Joko Widodo will hand over the G20 presidency to PM Narendra Modi. G20 Founded: 1999.

Sports Events:

Khelo India University Games:

• Uttar Pradesh will host the 2023 Khelo India University Games, the third edition of the event. Lucknow will be the main host city for the multi – discipline event in which almost 6000 athletes from all over the country are expected to participate.
• The inaugural edition of the games was held in 2020 in Odisha while Karnataka was the host for the second edition held in 2022.
